First and foremost, Alice demonstrated an exceptional dedication to explaining the intricacies of Access to Work forms. She took the time to ensure that I understood every aspect of the process, patiently answering all my questions and providing valuable insights into optimizing the forms for my specific needs.

What truly stood out was her willingness to go above and beyond. She spent extra time with me, ensuring that all my concerns were addressed and that I felt confident moving forward.

Advocacy and Casework

We can support you outside of advice sessions with advocacy and casework.

Sometimes this can be funded by an Access to Work Support Worker award (you will need to check with us to see if this is possible – it will depend on the type of support provided).

This type of support can look like:

  • Supporting you on calls with your Case Manager
  • Joining you for your Workplace Needs Assessment
  • Reviewing materials
  • Drafting documents

If you need advocacy and casework, we always ask that you book an advice session first. That way we can understand your case, give advice and work out a support plan.

Access to Work Application Package

Simplifying the application process, ensuring you can submit with confidence and clarity.

Navigating the Access to Work application can be complex, but you don’t have to do it alone. This package provides a structured, 5 step approach designed to make the process smoother and more manageable. From our first call to application submission, we’ll be there to guide you through every stage, ensuring you feel informed, prepared, and confident every step of the way.

1

Initial 60-Minute Call

We’ll start with a one-hour call to talk through the Access to Work scheme and discuss your role, any workplace challenges, and what support might work best for you. This call gives you a full overview of what’s possible and sets a clear direction for your application.

2

Call Follow-Up

After our initial conversation, I’ll send over an email summary along with any next steps and a personalised template for your application. This follow-up keeps you organised and on track as you prepare.

3

Drafting Your Application

I’ll handle the draft of your application, especially the detailed answers. By structuring everything clearly, your application is ready for review and crafted to show exactly how the support will make a difference for you at work.

4

Submitting Your Application Together

We’ll jump on a call to go through each section of the application together. I’ll keep a precise record of your responses, so you feel confident knowing everything’s been done right!

5

Application Follow-Up

Once your application is submitted, I’ll send a final email with all your responses and tips for speaking to your Case Manager. This way, you’re prepared and can focus on the next steps.

The Details - Access to Work Application Package

Get your initial call booked with myself or Mel straight away by following one of the links below.

Cost for the whole package: £155

No, this package is designed to fully cover the application process, but nothing afterwards – such as attending calls with your Case Manager or preparing a Support Worker Record of Tasks form. If you need support for these stages, book an advice session with me.

If you are concerned about eligibility I would recommend booking a 30 minute advice session with Mel for £30 to discuss this before booking the application package.

No, the package is for the whole process, the fee cannot be refunded once we have carried out the initial call. But if you don’t want to continue with your application for any reason, we don’t have to go onto stage 2.

Access to Work currently states a wait time of around 36 weeks — but in reality, it depends on your employment status:

  • Already in an employed role: average wait is around 9 months

  • Already in a self-employed role: expect around 19 months

However, if you apply within 4 weeks before starting a new role (employed or self-employed), your application will be prioritised — and you could hear back in as little as 4–6 weeks.

Wait times correct as of August 2026 — subject to change

“She is amazingly thorough, as well as very knowledgeable and supportive.”

I’m so glad I invested in help from Alice with my Support Worker Record of Tasks form – which I really don’t think I could have done a great job of on my own – and I’m usually pretty good with forms in general.

She is amazingly thorough, as well as very knowledgeable and supportive. I am confident that thanks to her support I have given my application the best possible chance of success. I learned quite a bit going through her process that will be useful outside Access to Work as well, which was an unexpected bonus!

Becca Benning

AtW Support Worker Record of Tasks Package

Supporting you to ensure your SWROT form is complete, accurate, and ready for submission.

Documenting support worker tasks for Access to Work can be challenging, but you don’t have to face it alone.

This package provides thorough support through a series of advice sessions, to ensure your SWROT form is clear, and tailored to meet the requirements of the DWP. From mapping out your weekly tasks to finalising the form, I’ll guide you every step of the way, making it easier for your Case Manager to understand and approve your claim.

1

Initial Information Gathering Call

We’ll start with a 60-minute call to go through what the form is asking for and review the template together, using examples where helpful. During this session, I’ll ask detailed questions to make sure we cover all aspects of your situation and identify whether any specific considerations or advice are needed.

2

Drafting Your SWROT Form

You’ll then complete your first draft of the form and send it to me for review before our next session.

3

Review and Feedback

I’ll guide you through a structured review process, providing clear and practical feedback on your draft. This includes up to three rounds of feedback, delivered in the format that works best for you (email, document comments, voice notes or calls), working towards a version that is ready for you to submit.

4

Final Checks and Advice

Through the feedback process, we’ll ensure the form is complete, accurate, and ready for submission. You will submit the form yourself, but I’ll provide personalised advice on what to expect from the DWP, how to respond to potential challenges, and how to prepare for questions from your case manager.

The Details - SWROT package

Timeline: This process typically takes at least two weeks, so please contact us in advance to ensure we have capacity to meet your deadline.

You can also book through Mel who will likely have more availability.

Cost: £165

Unfortunately, no. Completing a SWROT form is a detailed process that takes time to ensure it’s accurate and thorough. If you’re on a tight deadline, I recommend asking for an extension from your case manager so we can approach the form properly.

It typically takes at least two weeks to complete the form, alongside my other commitments. Before booking, I recommend getting in touch with me to ensure I have enough capacity to meet your deadline. SWROT forms often have strict deadlines, so it’s always best to confirm availability in advance.

No. This package includes structured support to help you produce a thorough and well-prepared SWROT form, but it is not open-ended. The service covers the initial call plus up to three further rounds of revisions or support (which may include follow-up calls or email feedback, depending on what’s needed).

The aim is to get you to a point where you feel confident submitting a complete and accurate form. If further support is needed beyond this scope, or to argue with the case manager post-decision – we can discuss additional sessions or a different level of support. But ongoing, indefinite advice is not included within this package.

Yes, I can provide feedback through a one off advice session. However, if there is a lot of work needed on the form, it’s often more efficient to go through the full package process, as reviewing and rewriting can take longer than starting from scratch.

“Alice was extremely helpful and gave me great advice on what to include in my SWORT form, which thankfully has been accepted by access to work.”

Access to Work Reconsideration Request Package

Challenging a decision with confidence, ensuring your reconsideration request is clear, structured, and backed by the right information.

If your Access to Work award doesn’t reflect the support you need, you have the option to request a reconsideration. This package provides structured support to help you put forward a strong, well-reasoned case. From reviewing your award and identifying key challenges to drafting a clear reconsideration request, I’ll guide you through every step of the process.

1

Initial 60-Minute Call

We’ll discuss your current award, what you want reconsidered, and the key reasons for your challenge. I’ll explain the reconsideration process, check that you’re within the allowed timeframe, and help you outline the strongest case possible.

2

Drafting Your Reconsideration Request

You'll complete the first draft of your reconsideration request and send it to me to review before our next session.

Through the feedback process, we’ll ensure the request is complete, accurate, and ready for submission. You will submit the request yourself, but I’ll provide personalised advice on how to do that, what to expect from the DWP and what to do if your Reconsideration request is not successful.

The Details

Cost: £175

What’s Included: Support through the full reconsideration request process, from reviewing your award to preparing and finalising the request.

Timeline: This process typically takes at least two weeks, so please contact us in advance to ensure we have capacity to meet your deadline.

No, claimants have 28 days to request a reconsideration from the date on their award letter. So the sooner you get in touch with me the better.

No, you will be responsible for reviewing, finalising and sending your request to the Access to Work Reconsideration Team. I will provide clear instructions on how to do this.

It’s helpful to have your award letter and any email correspondence between you and your Case Manager. If you have other relevant documents that support your request, please bring those too.

You can request a full refund if you cancel before the initial call. However, once the initial call has taken place, the fee is non-refundable.

No, this package is designed to support you through the reconsideration request process up until submission. It does not include attending calls with your Case Manager or providing further support after you have sent your request. If you need additional help after submission, you can book a one-to-one advice session with me.

FAQs for Claimants

You can have a one-off session, regular sessions, or book in as-and-when you need advice for a particular thing.

No, I focus exclusively on Access to Work, ensuring you receive up-to-date, specialist advice. I have an extensive network of AtW advisors, support workers and coaches, allowing me to signpost you to relevant further sources of support.

I work as a team with Mel and Stacey, who both support me with claimants advice sessions & reconsiderations. They have been handpicked and trained by me and will always be supervised. When selecting an appointment you will be able to view my availability and also Mel & Stacey’s availability – so you have the choice who to work with. It will never be a surprise that you are working with an associate and I will always take responsibility for the output of the work, if you are unhappy with anything I will look at it myself.

I pride myself on offering appointments at times that suit you. You should normally be able to book an appointment with me within the week. If my availability is looking thin, I do work with an associate Mel, who will likely be able to speak with you sooner.

If you have any concerns about accessing any of my services then contact me and we can work out how to make them accessible for you. For example:

  • We can carry out an advice session via WhatsApp or Messenger using text message and/or voice notes if you struggle to engage with video or voice calls.
  • I can provide you with a recording and/or transcript of your session if you struggle with memory or notetaking
  • I can add live captioning and summaries to my group events

Whatever your concern, just get in touch and I will do my best to come up with a solution.

No, by remaining an advice-only service I can offer you independent and obligation-free support. I can however help you find a support worker or coach that will be a good fit with signposting and recommendations.

No, I can help with any aspect of Access to Work. There is often a focus on applications but I can also help with other tasks such as purchasing items, finding support workers, making claims, chasing payments, renewals, changes of circumstances, and complaints.

Absolutely not. My advice can complement other support services, whether you’re seeking free advice or considering other paid providers. My guidance can be used alongside or as a stepping stone to additional support.

No. I provide more than just expert advice. I offer a space to calmly discuss your concerns, weigh potential solutions and develop an action plan, empowering you with the confidence to advocate for yourself.

We can also offer advocacy and casework – this can be discussed in an initial advice session.

Yes, absolutely. It’s a lengthy bureaucratic process that isn’t easy to navigate. I’m known for my kind and compassionate approach. I understand the struggles you face and provide empathetic support, helping to reduce the stress of navigating the AtW process.
